The HTA is a not for profit association that was established in 1983 with the aim of promoting trade to the village through the organisation of events and activities . There have been many changes over the subsequent years but the association has gone from strength to strength.
Many of the events have become known on a national level, attracting large numbers of tourists to the village. Of these the Torchlight Procession, Scroggling the Holly and the 1940s weekend are probably the most famous.
