Candlemass Eve

Singing and dancing all the way, Candlemass Eve begins the Torchlight weekend. Victorian children follow a brass band and the Morris Men down Main Street , lighting the way for Sunday's procession finishing with Carol singing around Haworth 's Christmas tree. Festivities start at 11am . Procession starts at 3.30pm .

The origins of Haworth's Torchlight Procession are lost in time, this most traditional of Haworth festivals begins with brass bands and choirs entertaining throughout the day, building up to the Torchlight Procession. Locals and visitors alike are invited to get their torches and gather at the bottom of Main Street ready for the procession where hundreds of people wend there way up the Victorian cobbles by torchlight, singing carols as they go. A traditional Carol Service at St Michael's Church brings the evening to a close
